War is always morally wrong. It is a stark admission of the failure to communicate, discuss or persuade. The theory of a ‘just war’ is a contradiction in terms. As ‘means’ are ‘ends-in-the-making’, it impossible to use violence to attain peaceful ends. A State claims the ultimate monopoly of force in a territorial area, but a dictatorship can be opposed by non-cooperation, civil disobedience and if necessary by non-violent direct action.
