Returned from sailing off Turkey in the Eastern Med.

I have just returned after two months’ sailing off the southern shores of Turkey. The country still suffers from a creeping dictatorship, increasing Islamisation and the continuing oppression of the minority Kurds, but many Turks wish to continue with the old secular constitution which calls for parliamentary democracy, freedom of expression and equal rights for women and men.

I am pleased to say that the publishers Imge of Ankara are going ahead with the second edition of ‘Demanding the Impossible: A History of Anarchism’, with the new epilogue’. At the same time, they have postponed temporarily their translation of ‘Poseidon’s Realm: A Voyage around the Aegean’ because of the present economic crisis.
